The face behind Songswav

Hi, I'm Haziq

Founder, Songswav  ·  Music Producer  ·  Independent Artist

I built Songswav because I was tired of seeing talented independent artists go unheard. I understand the frustration of releasing music into silence and I decided to do something about it.

Why I built Songswav

The problem I kept running into

I've been around independent music for years as a listener, a creator, and someone who cares deeply about regional Indian music getting the recognition it deserves. And the same story kept repeating: artists would release something genuinely brilliant, and nobody would hear it.

The music industry tools that existed were either built for Western markets, too expensive, or run by faceless services that clearly used bots and fake streams. None of them understood what it meant to promote a Kashmiri folk fusion track, or a Punjabi indie record that doesn't fit into Bollywood templates.

What I decided to do about it

In 2026, I started building Songswav not as a tech startup, but as something personal. I wanted to create the kind of platform I wished had existed when I first tried to get music in front of real listeners. A service that actually listens to your track before placing it. That sends you a real report. That picks up the phone or at least replies to your email.

Every playlist we run is one we built ourselves. Every Meta campaign is set up manually. There's no black box. When your track gets added somewhere, you can see it live on Spotify for Artists yourself.

Where we are today

We've now worked with artists across 10 languages. Some were releasing their very first song. Others were trying to break out of regional plateaus into a national audience.

We're still small. And I think that's a feature, not a bug. Every track that comes through gets my personal attention. That's not going to change as long as I'm running this platform.

What I Believe

The principles behind every decision

These aren't values written for a pitch deck. They're the actual rules I operate by.

01

Real over impressive

I'd rather place your track in 2 playlists with real listeners than 20 playlists full of ghost accounts. Numbers that don't convert to real fans are just noise.

02

Transparency is non-negotiable

Every plan comes with a report. You'll see exactly where your track was placed, what the ad reach looked like, and how streams moved. No smoke and mirrors.

03

Regional music deserves better

A Kashmiri indie track shouldn't have to compete for the same generic playlist slot as a mainstream Bollywood remix. We build dedicated spaces for every language we serve.

04

Artists own their journey

I'm a tool in your hands — not a gatekeeper. Every decision about your music stays yours. My job is to amplify what you've already built, not redirect it.

05

Slow is better than fake

Organic growth takes longer. But it compounds. An artist with 500 real fans who actually stream and share will always beat an artist with 50,000 dead followers.

06

The human touch scales

We cap our monthly submissions deliberately. I'd rather do 20 campaigns brilliantly than 200 carelessly. Quality is the only thing that builds a reputation worth having.

"Independent music in India doesn't have a quality problem. It has a visibility problem. That's the only thing I'm here to fix."
